DK Metcalf injury update: Adam Schefter reveals Seahawks WR diagnosis, timeline for return
Seattle Seahawks (4-3) receiver DK Metcalf suffered a Grade 1 sprained MCL in Sunday’s 34-14 Week 7 road victory over the Atlanta Falcons (4-3), per Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Metcalf is considered “week to week” with the injury.
Metcalf, 26, was carted off the field after hitting his left knee on the ground following a sideline catch which was ruled incomplete during the third quarter. Head coach Mike Macdonald said after the game he didn’t feel the injury was too serious.
“On that sideline catch, he banged up his knee a little bit,” Macdonald said. “Not sure the severity. We’re optimistic at this point, so it doesn’t look too bad.”

Should Metcalf miss any time, Seattle will rely on Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Tyler Lockett and Noah Fant in the passing game, which is tops in the league.
Quarterback Geno Smith, whose connection with Metcalf has been as good as any around the league, said he put his star wideout in a tough spot on the play he injured his knee.
“I was over there just telling him, ‘Man, like, massages on me through the week,'” Smith said, via Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. “I put him in a tough spot right there. And whatever I’ve got to do to get him back healthy, however we’ve got to get him back, we’ve got to do it. He’s a guy that we need, we’re going to make sure that we do.”
