DK Metcalf reveals eye-opening Top 5 NFL wide receivers of all-time list
As NFL training camp approaches, we all seem to be discussing lists. So add DK Metcalf’s top five receivers to the chatter.
Maybe Metcalf, the current Seahawk and former Ole Miss star, will be held in such high regard one day. A young, up and comer will look to him and say he was one of the league’s all-time best.
But this is how DK Metcalf views the world of receivers. He listed his top five during an interview with All Things Covered podcast.
Do you agree with the list offered by DK Metcalf. (We think Jerry Rice is too low.)
Jones is the only player who still is semi-active. He doesn’t currently have a team. But since being drafted in the first round by the Falcons in 2011, the former Alabama star has totaled 903 receptions for 13,629 yards and 63 touchdowns. He played for the Bucs in 2022.

The enigmatic Brown is an odd choice for No. 1 on the Metcalf top five. He last played in the NFL in 2021, when he was with the Bucs. Late that season, Tampa was playing the Jets on the road at MetLife Stadium. Brown took off his shoulder pads and jersey and trotted off the field in the third quarter. He waved to the crowd after what would be his final snap in the league.
Brown joined the ownership group of the Albany Empire in the National Arena League earlier this year. Weeks into the season, he said he planned on playing. But last month, the league terminated the Empire’s agreement with the league. DK Metcalf obviously was thinking back to when Brown was less controversial. Playing for three teams, including the Steelers, Brown caught 928 passes for 12,291 and 83 touchdowns.
Moss, Owens and Rice are members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Meanwhile, DK Metcalf was creating other lists. During the Gatorade Player of the Year Awards ceremony, an NFL Network reporter asked the Seahawk to name the top three wideouts in the league. Metcalf named “Justin Jefferson, Davante Adams and A.J. Brown.
Of course, he’d put himself up there as well.
The Seahawks start training camp July 26.
