ESPN reports that the MLB is investigating the situation. Players facing investigation by the MLB over alleged domestic battery charges are typically placed on administrative leave.
From Passan’s story on ESPN, “In 2019, Urías was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery. While he was eventually not charged, he received a 20-game suspension under Major League Baseball’s domestic violence policy. No MLB player has been suspended twice for violating the policy since its institution in 2015.”
Urias has played in 21 games for the Dodgers this season, posting an 11-8 record. He’s recorded 117 strikeouts in 117.1 innings of work. He’s surrendered 112 hits and 24 home runs.
Urias joined the Dodgers in 2016. He owns a career 60-25 record with a 3.11 ERA and has struck out 710 batters.
