Dogs wear Paul Skenes-themed fake mustaches at Pittsburgh Pirates' Pup Night game

When a sporting sensation takes over, the reactions from fans are often the most priceless part. And Paul Skenes is every bit the part of a sensation while having a massive fan following.
On Tuesday at the ballpark, the immensity of Skenes’ popularity was on full display.
How, you might ask? Well, even the local canines were supporting the rookie Pittsburgh Pirates sensation. A pair of dogs, presumably some type of poodle mix, were spotted rocking Skenes mustaches just above their snouts at the park during the fourth inning. Check it out below.
Paul Skenes, of course, is in the middle of a historic rookie season.
Earlier this month he set an MLB record when he recorded his 78th strikeout in his first 10 starts, something no other rookie pitcher had ever accomplished.
He reached the MLB All-Star game and is one of the favorites for the Cy Young Award. He is currently at +400 odds to win the NL Cy Young, behind only Chris Sale and Zack Wheeler.

Paul Skenes’ talent is incredible.
“It’s a generational talent, but he does everything right,” LSU coach Jay Johnson said recently. “Whether it’s work ethic, preparation, just how he was talking about the other players at the All-Star game, picking their brains and staying there [in the dugout] for all nine innings instead of bailing out of there.
“There’s only one of him and I’m just super honored that he chose to come here. Obviously we won a national title and it’s worked out great for everybody.”
So far this season Paul Skenes is 6-0 with a 1.87 ERA. He has pitched in 12 games, working through 72.1 innings and striking out 95 while walking only 13.
He’s been as close to perfect as you can be for a rookie and the pups certainly appreciate it.
