Dallas Cowboys players Donovan Wilson and Jake Ferguson got into a fight at the end of a training camp practice on Wednesday. According to multiple reports, Wilson threw a punch at Ferguson after he was hit with a stiff arm. Cowboys players quickly broke up the fight.

This is the Cowboys’ final practice before the team takes on the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday for their final preseason game. Wilson and Ferguson likely won’t see too much action (if at all) since both are starters and will rest before the team’s season opener on Sept. 8 against the Cleveland Browns.

Wilson, has been with the Cowboys since 2019 when he was selected in the sixth round of the NFL Draft. Before the 2023 season, Wilson signed a three-year, $21 million contract extension. The veteran safety played in 15 regular season games last season and recorded 88 tackles, two interceptions and three passes defended.

“I’m just really blessed and excited to be around familiar faces, and back in the building,” Wilson said after signing his contract last year, per DallasCowboys.com. “It means a lot. We talked about brotherhood a lot, and it was a lot of hard work getting here. I’m just looking forward to the future here.”

Ferguson has been in Dallas since 2022 after the team drafted him in the fourth round of the draft. He had a strong 2023 season, posting 71 receptions for 761 yards and five touchdowns. His production last season led to him being named to his first Pro Bowl.

Earlier this month, Ferguson talked about avoiding fights during joint practices. “I think you know me well enough where fights aren’t too big of a deal. Emotions get high. It’s a physical game,” he said per DallasCowboys.com. “But you try to stay away from the fights and you try to stay away from the punching, some dirty stuff, but I think — nothing’s wrong with grabbing a guy by the pads, holding him, looking at him and saying, ‘Hey, going after my QB like that isn’t cool.’ I understand emotions get high. It’s a physical game. This is guys’ livelihood, so I don’t blame any of that stuff.”
