The Vols are hosting their eighth NCAA Regional in school history and their third in the past four seasons after winning the SEC Tournament on Sunday. But there are two other conference tournament champions also competing in their regional this season as well in what could be an exciting double-elimination first round of the NCAA Tournament.

DraftKings Sportsbook recently released the odds of the Knoxville Regional ahead of Friday’s action, which can be seen below in order of most to least likely to take home the Regional title in the Volunteer State.

NCAA Baseball Tournament Knoxville Regional Odds

Tennessee -250
Southern Miss +330
Indiana +700
Northern Kentucky +5000

To no surprise, Tennessee is the favorite to win their own regional as the No. 1 ranked team in the country that enters the NCAA Tournament with an impressive 50-11 record. Representing the only team in the tournament with 50 wins to their name after leading all of Division I with 147 home runs and ranking within the top five in ERA, WHIP, runs, and slugging percentage. Even boasting the second best odds only behind Texas A&M to win the entire tournament at +600 according to Draft Kings.

Given the Vols’ regular season success, during the SEC Tournament head coach Tony Vitello was asked if he’ll look to keep things the same or make some changes during the postseason regarding the mindset of his team.

“I think try to stay the same, you want to stay true to your roots, what kind of got you there,” Vitello said. “But for this team in particular, kind of keep evolving and playing well. I mean a good summary of our SEC league play was we lost our first series, we were able to win all three games of our last one, and along that way we had a lot of different things happen and things kind of improve for us. So keep pushing forward.”

Southern Miss earned the No. 2 seed in the Knoxville Regional after winning the Sun Belt Tournament and heads up to Rocky Top on a hot streak after winning 14 of their last 15 games. With Northern Kentucky also entering the Regional with a hot hand following an impressive 23-5 blowout in the championship game to win their first Horizon League Championship in program history.

Indiana rounds out the foursome after receiving an at-large bid and coming one win away from reaching the Big Ten Tournament Final. Boasting a top 40 strength of schedule this season and a 32-24-1 overall record after winning 17 of their final 28 games of the season.

Southern Miss takes on Indiana on Friday in Game 1 of the Knoxville Regional at noon C.T. (streaming on ESPN+) followed by Tennessee versus Northern Kentucky in a Game 2 airing on SEC Network at 6 p.m.
