The New England Patriots have posted an injury update on rookie quarterback Drake Maye. The former North Carolina star has cleared concussion protocol and is good to go for Sunday’s game against the Titans.

“Drake Maye has cleared Concussion Protocol. He has been removed from the injury report,” the Patriots posted on Twitter.

The New England Patriots rookie quarterback took a hit to the head during Week 8’s 25-22 home win over the New York Jets. The 2024 No. 3 overall pick suffered the head injury after scrambling for 18 yards on the Patriots’ third offensive drive of the game.

Drake Maye was a limited participant in practice this week, signaling that there was a chance he could be cleared before Sunday’s game.

Earlier this week, Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo addressed the concussion Drake Maye suffered.

“It was called down from the league,” Mayo said on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show” on Monday. “They wanted to do further evaluation. When I went in there at halftime, he wanted to go back out there, but obviously, he didn’t pass the test. And not going to get too far into that. But, at the same time, he went out there and threw a couple good balls after, I guess, supposedly put him in the protocol.”

Before leaving the game, Maye recorded the first rushing touchdown of his NFL career, a 17-yard score to give the Patriots an early 6-0 lead. Maye has provided a jolt to New England’s offense since taking over the starting job from Brissett in Week 6. He has thrown for 564 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions on 63.1% passing.

Kickoff between New England and Tennessee is scheduled for 1 p.m. ET and will air live on FOX.
