Draymond Green doesn’t believe the Denver Nuggets will blow a 3-1 lead like his Golden State Warriors infamously did a couple years back.

No, the star power forward is already crowning Nikola Jokic and company as the champions of the Association for this season, before Game 5 even tips off. That could motivate the Miami Heat, but Green isn’t worried at all.

Check out the video below, where Green makes his bold prediction, staking his claim that this one is in fact over.

“Your 2023 NBA champion … Denver Nuggets, has been crowned. If you watched that game and it did not look to you like the Denver Nuggets have won a championship, I don’t know what you were watching.

“And by the way, not in a disrespectful way. Not that they’re looking passed the next win that they need to get. None of the rah-rah, they sleep. No. I told y’all, Denver has been finishing their breakfast. And last night, these last two games, it’s another example of that. They’re finishing their breakfast. They’re not playing with their food.”

Of course, Green and the Warriors are still technically reigning champions of the NBA, but that looks like it’s about to change. Even when the Heat won Game 2 in Denver, it could be argued that the Nuggets played a better game. It’s looking like only a matter of time.

Nevertheless, if we’ve learned anything about Jimmy Butler and the Heat, it’s that they’ve played better when their backs are against the wall. They’re currently in the middle of one of the most unlikely and impressive playoffs runs to ever grace the NBA, as they’re the No. 8 seed and have taken down their fair-share of Goliaths.

Still, it’s looking like Jokic and the Nuggets are simply a different animal. They’ve been the top team in the league wire to wire, and finished as the No. 1 team in the Western Conference. While the Heat took out the top team in the Eastern Conference in the Milwaukee Bucks, they could be running out of steam.

If the Nuggets make Green’s prediction come true, it would be the first title in the history of their franchise. However, it looks like Denver is here to stay, as long as Nikola Jokic is playing for their squad.

Alas, time will tell if Draymond Green is right, but the Nuggets could be lifting the Larry O tomorrow night if his prediction is correct.
