As the ACC race heats up, a matchup at Hard Rock Stadium could be especially important. Duke will head to Miami, and the early point spread has been released.

The Hurricanes opened as 20.5-point favorites against the Blue Devils, according to FanDuel. The over-under also opened at 56.5 points.

The Week 10 game will be a return to Coral Gables for Manny Diaz. He’s in his first season as Duke head coach and is two years removed from his time at Miami, which ended with a 21-15 record and a 16-9 mark in ACC play.

After his departure, Diaz spent two years as the defensive coordinator at Penn State before landing the job at Duke. The Blue Devils are in the middle of the ACC race and will look to continue their impressive season against Miami, fresh off a matchup against Florida State.

The ACC race continues to get interesting as the season goes along. Four teams in the league were undefeated entering Week 9, including Duke and SMU, who played each other in the nightcap.

But when it comes to which team will win the league, though, former Florida and Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen said Miami would be in the hunt. That said, he thinks the Hurricanes’ recent run of one-score games will come to an end and Clemson will get the ACC title.

“That field’s deep, right? … I’m going Clemson,” Mullen said. “Clemson, after Week 1 of the season, we watched them go in, we’re expecting a big game against Georgia. They have a good first half, get absolutely decimated in the second half of that game. Scratch your head, maybe they have it going on. Since that day, Cade Klubnik, the offense, explosive. They’re putting up points, they’re putting up yards, their defense has come to play. They have dominated everyone they have played since that early loss.

“And I think Clemson rolls through the season to get to that title game against Miami, and Clemson gets the win. Miami, the Cinderella story, finally, it’s gonna strike midnight and all these close wins are gonna come to an end.”
