Duke vs. Northwestern odds: Early point spread released, How to Watch
The ACC and Big Ten collide in the early non-conference slate during Week 2 when Duke travels to the outskirts of Chicago to battle Northwestern.
Northwestern eeked past Miami (OH) 13-6 in the Wildcats season opener inside their temporary, lakefront stadium on Saturday as Duke defeated Elon 26-3 in a game that was low-scoring, but never felt close.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Wildcats are 1.5-point betting favorites over the Blue Devils at home. The over/under point total for the game is set at 41.5.
Both programs are featuring new head coaches in David Braun, who served as the interim coach for the Wildcats last season and is now in his first full season leading the program, and Manny Diaz for Duke, who replaced new Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko.

“They just went,” Diaz said postgame about his pass rush. “And I know that sounds so silly, but they just attacked the way that this defense is really designed to. And then once they got the nose for it, they didn’t stop. They were relentless.”
Former Texas quarterback Maalik Murphy made his Duke debut as well, completing 26 of 40 passes for 291 yards, two touchdowns and a fourth quarter interception after the game was already out of reach.
For Northwestern, they took a 3-3 tie into the halftime break in their opener against Miami (OH). The only touchdown of the Week 1 matchup came in the third quarter via former Vanderbilt and Mississippi State quarterback Mike Wright, who took a 13-yard rush into the endzone in what would ultimately be the difference in the final score.
The Wildcats have lost five-straight matchups to the Blue Devils dating back to 2017. In those matchups, Duke has won by an average of more than two touchdowns, including a 38-14 win in the Blue Devils’ favor during the 2023 season. It wil be the 25th all-time meeting between the two programs.
