LOOK: Dwayne Haskins' wife clarifies date, times for official services
This weekend, the family of former Ohio State and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins will be celebrated and honored. On Tuesday, Haskins’ wife, Kalabrya Haskins, released more information on the official services for husband, providing those details through Steelers Director of Communications Burt Lauten.
“I want to thank everyone for their continuous outpour of kindness and love for my husband during this extremely difficult time,” Kalabrya Haskins said. “For those that have asked for clarity, regarding official services, there will be a public celebration of life for my husband, Dwayne Haskins, Jr., where his legacy will be honored with stories told from teammates, coaches, friends, family and loved ones.
“Visitation will be Friday, April 22nd, from 9-11 a.m. with a full service immediately following from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Allegheny Center Alliance Church in Pittsburgh, Pa. Flowers are being accepted at the church.”
Steelers fans have already tried to honor Haskins, who was set to return to the team again this season. Over the weekend, Steelers fans created a memorial at Heinz Field for Haskins outside one of the stadium’s gates.

Steelers, Ohio State fans will have more opportunities to honor Haskins over the next week
In addition to the details that Kalabrya Haskins shared for the Pittsburgh area, there are other celebrations of life scheduled over the weekend for Haskins. Over this past weekend, Dwayne Haskins Sr. shared a video on social media sharing more details for ceremonies for his son.
A celebration of life is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 23 from 12 p.m. ET to 3 p.m. ET. The event will be held at Christ Church in Rockaway Township, New Jersey. There will be a Vigil at the Bullis School on Sunday, April 24 at 7 p.m. ET, where Haskins attended in high school. An alumni ceremony will also be held that day starting at 6 p.m.
It will undoubtedly be an emotional weekend for the Haskins family, as they mourn the loss of Haskins while also celebrating the life that he was able to live. He was killed recently in Florida after he was hit by a car.
