Philadelphia Eagles select Drew Kendall in 5th round of 2025 NFL Draft

The Philadelphia Eagles have selected former Boston College center Drew Kendall in the 5th round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Kendall was a standout performer along the offensive line for the Eagles during his college football career.
Kendall entered the NFL Draft cycle after his redshirt junior season, which saw him earn First-team All-ACC honors after starting all 13 games at center for the Eagles. In the two seasons after redshirting as a true freshman, Kendall started 24 games at center for Boston College. In all, he played in 39 games across four seasons. That included 31 consecutive starts snapping the football for his program.
On the field, he recorded a team-high 83.1 pass block grade as well as a 76.8 offensive grade, via Pro Football Focus. He was also the anchor of an offensive line that helped lead Boston College to four games where they tallied 200 or more rushing yards. This incuded two rushing performances of 300 yards or more.
Before college, Kendall was a four-star recruit according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 141 overall recruit, as well as the No. 9 interior offensive lineman in the 2021 recruiting class.
Now that he’s been drafted, Kendall continues to follow in his father’s footsteps as an NFL legacy. His father, Pete, also played center for Boston College. He would go on to play across 13 seasons in the NFL after being drafted No. 21 overall in the first round by the Seattle Seahawks in the 1996 NFL Draft.

What NFL Draft analysts are saying about Drew Kendall
Now that Drew Kendall has been drafted, fans may be wondering what to expect from their new offensive lineman. NFL Draft analyst Lance Zierlein provided his analysis of the All-ACC center. He gave Kendall a fourth-round draft grade during the pre-draft process.
Zierlein: “The traits and athletic features don’t stand out, but Kendall comes from NFL bloodlines and simply knows how to play. He’s detail-oriented as a run blocker with good footwork, hand placement and body control. He adjusts well to movement in-line or in space to execute his block.
“He’s not a bender, so I expect him to have trouble dealing with A-gap pluggers and longer bull-rushers who can roll him into the pocket. Kendall’s technique, toughness and intelligence are important elements as a center, but given his measurables and lack of position flexibility, his ceiling might be on the lower end.”
