The Green Bay Packers just turned offensive lineman Elgton Jenkins‘ holiday season from a good one to a great one. The Packers and Jenkins recently agreed to a new contract extension. The two sides finalized a deal for a four-year $68 million contract extension with a $24 million signing bonus. Not a bad present for Jenkins this holiday season and for his birthday, as the Packers offensive lineman explained.

“Yeah. You know, my birthday is right after Christmas,” said Jenkins. “So birthdays and Christmas were always put together for me. I feel like this was a great birthday and Christmas present.”

With the contract extension, Jenkins becomes the second highest-paid guard in the NFL, only trailing the Indianapolis Colts all-pro guard Quenton Nelson. The pickup of Jenkins out of Mississippi State in the 2019 NFL draft was another solid pick along the offensive line made by Green Bay’s general manager Brian Gutekunst. Not only has the former bulldog played guard for the Packers, but he has also taken snaps at center and both tackle positions. And when Green Bay’s All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari was out for the majority of the 2021 season as he recovered from ACL surgery, it was Jenkins who stepped up in his absence before unfortunately suffering the same fate.

Packers release Friday Injury Report for Week 16 matchup vs. Miami Dolphins

The Green Bay Packers released their final injury report on Friday for their Week 16 matchup against the Miami Dolphins. The two teams are slated to play on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25th. Packers’ left tackle David Bakhtiari is listed as doubtful for the game. He’s missed the past two games after undergoing an emergency appendectomy. Bakhtiari hasn’t been healthy for much of the 2022 season and has been dealing with knee issues for much of the past two years. Everybody else on the Packers injury report got in at least a limited practice session on Friday.

Packers’ tight end Marcedes Lewis was a full participant on Friday, despite resting on Wednesday and Thursday. He’s received veteran rest for much of the season, so that’s not out of the normal for him. Lewis has hauled in one touchdown this year in limited action. Last, but not least, Packers’ star quarterback Aaron Rodgers was a full practice participant on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. He’s been dealing with a fractured right thumb and injured ribs. Rodgers has put up decent numbers this year, considering the circumstances and injuries he’s been dealing with.

Below is the Packers Week 16 Injury Report vs. the Miami Dolphins.
