Eli Manning sent an emotional message to Jaxson Dart after the New York Giants selected the former Ole Miss quarterback in the first round. On Friday, the Giants posted a video that showed Manning sending a video message to Dart and telling him how excited he is to see him playing for the Giants this fall.

“Jaxson, congratulations on being drafted by the New York Giants,” Eli Manning began. Obviously, there’s a strong connection between Ole Miss quarterbacks and the Giants going back to Charlie Conerly. I’m excited that tradition will continue with you. I’m not going to sit here and tell you what a great organization the Giants are. It will not take you long to figure that out by yourself. It’s been an honor and a lot of fun rooting for you these past three years at Ole Miss, and I look forward to rooting for you for the Giants for the next 15 years. Congratulations, pal. See you soon.”

After Jaxson Dart watched Eli Manning’s video message, he shared his reaction. “That’s special to me,” Dart said. “Eli’s been a huge role model of mine since for a while, even before I got to Ole Miss. Just the relationship that I was able to make with him was truly unique in my time at Ole Miss, and I couldn’t be more grateful to have him in my corner, and then follow in his footsteps as well as Charlie. What a great opportunity this is and couldn’t be more excited for this. This is the place I want to be.”

Can Jaxson Dart have the same NFL success as Eli Manning?

Manning and Dart made big impacts during their time at Ole Miss. Last year, Dart was named to the All-SEC First Team after throwing for 4,279 yards and 29 touchdowns while leading the Rebels to a 10-3 record. Manning was a second-team All-American and won the Maxwell Award during the 2003 season.

Giants fans are hoping the Dart can have the same success as Manning who was with the team from 2004-2019. In his career, Manning was selected to the Pro Bowl four times and won two Super Bowls and two Super Bowl MVP awards. Manning is a member of the Giants Ring of Honor, and his No. 10 is retired.
