Elliott Sadler 'in tears' after watching Josh Berry, Wood Brothers win at Las Vegas

The traditions and history of NASCAR are what make it so special. Ask Elliott Sadler how he feels after watching Josh Berry win. The former Cup and Xfinity Series regular couldn’t control his emotions after the big moment in Las Vegas.
Elliott Sadler raced for Wood Brothers Racing from 1999 to 2002. During that time the pair won a race at Bristol and finished a best of 20th in points in the 2001 season.
Sadler was a fan favorite in the Xfinity Series for years. But he has always had a place in his heart for the Wood Brothers. Seeing Josh Berry win today was special for him.
“Holy shit !!!! I’m in tears .. congrats to the [Wood Brothers] and Josh Berry .. great guys all the way around !! So happy !!” Sadler posted on X/Twitter.
There are so many connections and relationships in NASCAR. Elliott Sadler has never let go of his admiration for the Wood Brothers. They gave him his first full-time ride in the Cup Series and helped him make a name for himself.
Josh Berry gives the Wood Brothers back-to-back seasons with a win for the first time since 1986-1987. Of course he had help from Harrison Burton.
Berry, Sadler, Burton, Bayne, Morgan Shepherd, Dale Jarrett, Kyle Petty, Buddy Baker, Neil Bonnett, David Pearson, and AJ Foyt – those are the drivers who have won with the Wood Brothers. A new member of the fraternity.

Josh Berry earns statement win at Las Vegas
This wasn’t a win at Daytona or Talladega. Josh Berry didn’t win because of a last-chance Hail Mary pit stop or random caution. He won because he and his team put themselves in position, from qualifying to the race, to win.
Las Vegas is a track where the best teams usually rise to the top. It has multiple grooves to race, the fastest cars move to the front naturally, and long green flag runs allow for drivers to move up through the field.
The cautions did fall in Berry’s favor late. Everyone needs a little bit of luck to win a Cup Series race. But this was an example of Berry flat-out beating everyone else late to take the win.
With this win out of the way, will Josh Berry go on a run? He finished P4 at Phoenix before this win. Homestead-Miami is a similar track. Darlington and Texas are on the schedule coming up. Of course, Berry feels most comfortable on the short tracks like Martinsville and Bristol. Does he have another win coming around the corner or later this season?
