Marshall Mathers — AKA Eminem — is supporting his hometown Detroit Lions on the road as they face the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship. And true to form, he’s not shying away from being in the faces of his opponents, or their fans.

As Eminem was perched in his suite at Levi’s Stadium, a sea of 49ers faithful was in front of him. It’s likely someone hollered a thing or two Eminem’s way, but it’s impossible to know for certain.

Either way, it resulted in what will be a classic image for Detroit fans for years to come as Slim Shady gave a double bird to the sea of red-clad fans in front of him.

The good news for him: His Lions came out and backed it up, dominating the 49ers en route to a 24-7 lead at halftime.

Lions fans made Levi’s Stadium briefly sound like Ford Field

Things got off to a tremendous start for the Detroit Lions in this year’s NFC Championship Game against the San Francisco 49ers, to the point that the visiting fans are audibly taking over Levi’s Stadium.

After Detroit capped its final drive of the first half with a field goal that extended the lead to 24-7, the Lions fans present got vocal.

As officials for the game talked about a call on the ensuing kickoff, a “Jared Goff” chant broke out and was clearly heard on the TV broadcast. You can listen to that chant below.

Goff was having a tremendous first half at the time of the chant. He was 13-of-20 passing for 145 yards and had led four different scoring drives, the majority of them methodical as he picked his way down the field against the 49ers secondary.

The help of running backs Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery was also instrumental in keeping things balanced, as the duo ran for 106 yards and two touchdowns in the first half.

The game was obviously hugely significant for the Detroit Lions, who had the chance to do something that had never been done in franchise history: win a conference title in the post-AFL/NFL merger era.

The Lions were on a tear in the playoffs before tonight’s game.

First up it was a thrilling 24-23 win over the Los Angeles Rams in the wild card round, a game that had plenty of swings. Detroit led the whole way in the game but gave up two late field goals that cut the lead down to just one point. They were able to close it out to advance to the divisional round.

There, the Detroit Lions took on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That game followed a similar track, with Detroit never trailing in the game and managing to hold onto the lead late despite a fourth-quarter Tampa touchdown.

In those two games, Goff finished 52-of-70 passing for 564 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He was everything Detroit needed him to be.
