Emory Jones throws 56-yard touchdown vs. Falcons, Lamar Jackson celebrates
After a rough start to the preseason last week, Emory Jones made his presence known for the Baltimore Ravens in Saturday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. He threw a long touchdown in the third quarter, and Lamar Jackson loved it.
Jones connected with Dayton Wade for a 56-yard score to put the Ravens on top 13-6. The two-point conversion failed, but the former Florida and Cincinnati standout had his first NFL highlight-reel play.
Jackson celebrated accordingly on the sideline. He was fired up after Jones’ impressive connection after signing with Baltimore as an undrafted free agent.
Jones had a rough go on his first preseason game ahead of Saturday’s game. He fumbled against the Philadelphia Eagles in what turned out to be his lone snap. However, John Harbaugh said he expected Jones to bounce back from it – and it’s safe to say he did that on Saturday. He finished the day 7-for-9 for 100 yards and the touchdown pass to Wade.
“He feels bad about it, but he’s just starting out,” Harbaugh said, via Pro Football Talk. “Learning experience for him. The speed of this game is a little different. Going in, first snap, that’s a tough situation to be in. He’ll learn from it.
