For Erik and Holly Jones there is a lot to be thankful for this Thanksgiving week! Their firstborn arrived on Wednesday this week. It sounds like it wasn’t what the NASCAR couple thought it would be like, but everyone appears to be happy and healthy now.

Spending Thanksgiving becoming new parents is probably a trippy experience. Becoming a parent can be so surreal on its own, to have it happen during a major holiday has to take that to another level.

Holly and Erik Jones updated fans on how mom and baby are doing. David Wayne Jones is here and ready to get to the races, I’m sure.

“Thanksgiving looked a little different for us this year…David Wayne Jones was born 11/27 at 12:11 PM,” Holly wrote on social media.

“Labor didn’t go exactly according to plan, but mom and baby are both good and healthy! Cannot wait to get home for Oscar to meet his new little brother.”

Jimmie Johnson, Erik Jones’ boss at Legacy Motor Club, congratulated the couple. Seven-Time is a father of two and knows how this fatherhood thing goes.

It’s great to see the Jones family growing and happy. That Jones Boy now has his own little Jones Boy. David Wayne sounds like a racer if you ask me.

Erik Jones hoping for improved 2025 season

For Legacy Motor Club and Erik Jones, 2024 was a throwaway year. This is their first season under the Toyota banner. Legacy is building its own data and resources, instead of opting to pay large sums to access Joe Gibbs Racing’s data.

This season, the No. 43 car was 29th overall in points. That is a disappointing season for someone as talented as Jones. John Hunter Nemechek, his teammate, finished 35th in points. So, it’s clear the organization has a long way to go.

There is still reason to be positive about Legacy Motor Club. This is an organization that has the right people in charge, at least judging by the cover. They have made a number of key, strategy and competition hires in the last two years. Now it is time to put all of that stuff to the test and see what results look like in 2025.

Erik Jones is a new dad and will get a good chunk of time between now and the start of the season to settle into his new role. Although, there is never enough time off to spend with family. Congratulations to Erik and Holly and best of luck to the entire family!
