ESPN analyst Matt Miller has released an early mock draft for the 2025 NFL Draft. Miller has quarterbacks coming off the board with the first two picks as he has Georgia QB Carson Beck going No. 1 overall, followed by Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders at No. 2.

Miller has the Giants trading up to draft Beck, with the Raiders moving up to select Sanders.

Miller spoke on SportsCenter on Tuesday about the two quarterbacks and why he has Carson Beck at No. 1 overall.

“Carson Beck’s best quality is that big right arm that allows him to make throws to every level of the field,” Miller said. “He’s a super fast processor in the pocket. No he’s not going to be the most mobile quarterback. That’s not part of his game. But his ability to see the entire field, to execute high-level throws. And it’s the potential.”

Beck was a first-year starter in 2023 as he led Georgia to a 13-1 record. As a sophomore, he passed for 3,941 yards and 24 touchdowns, with six interceptions. He also completed an impressive 72.4 percent of his passes.

Miller believes that Beck has only scratched the surface of what he can become.

“Remember, last year, his first year as a starter, replacing Stetson Bennett – the Georgia offense was actually better in 2023 than it was in previous years, despite the fact that they didn’t get back to that national championship title,” Miller said. “So I think Beck is that player who is the top quarterback in this class, because of how well he protects himself in the pocket and what he does with that big right arm.”

Miller is a big fan of Shedeur Sanders, too, which is why he has him at No. 2 overall. However, he has some questions about Sanders’ durability as he heads into the NFL.

“Shedeur Sanders, very surgical as a passer, but he gets rocked in the pocket at times,” Miller said. “Can get a little bit beat up. That’s going to be a big question for a quarterback who is 6-foot-2, 215 pounds.”

In his first year at Colorado in 2023, Sanders passed for 3,230 yards with 27 touchdowns and three interceptions. He also rushed for four scores but finished with a negative rushing total due to the amount of sacks that he took.

It will be interesting to see how both Carson Beck and Shedeur Sanders perform in 2024 and if they indeed are the top two players picked in the 2025 NFL Draft.
