ESPN analysts name Eagles, Lions as top trade destinations for Myles Garrett

Myles Garrett is ready to move on from the Cleveland Browns, and NFL franchises are lining up to make their pitch for why they’re the right fit for one of the best defensive players the NFL has seen over the past decade.
ESPN’s Get Up crew tried to make their prediction for Garrett’s future on Friday, during a Valentine’s Day themed matchmaking segment. First, Jason McCourty proposed the rich will get richer, believing the Philadelphia Eagles could go from winning the Lombardi Trophy to outbidding the rest of the NFL for the Browns superstar.
“The rich get richer. I’m going to go with the Philadelphia Eagles,” McCourty said, predicting Garrett to Philadelphia. “Howie Roseman does it again. He finds a way to trade and add Myles Garrett. Josh Sweat is a free agent. A good chance that he may be walking out and getting more money elsewhere.
“Bring over a guy like Myles Garrett, who wants to figure out how to win, and going to Philadelphia gives him an opportunity to chase the Lombardi.”
On the other hand, while the Eagles would be a fascinating for Garrett, Dan Graziano believes a different NFC team could be the landing spot for the defensive star. The Detroit Lions came up short after being the No. 1 seed in the conference this past season, and Dan Campbell’s team could be a viable destination for the former Texas A&M star.
“I like that move. I’m not sure the Eagles can pull it off. I like him to the Lions,” Graziano responded. “Another top NFC contender that’s in a win-now window that has to make it happen, and needs edge-rush help. I think the Lions have to find a way to get this done.”

All told, it remains to be seen if Cleveland even wants to deal Garrett, the former Defensive Player of the Year, after he requested a trade from the Browns to start the month of February in order to contend in his career. As of now, the Browns have no reported interest in dealing him but, even so, their defensive end became the biggest name on the apparent market with that news.
Garrett, the No. 1 pick for the Browns in 2017, just finished his eighth season in Cleveland and was as impactful as ever. He posted 47 tackles, with a career and league-high of 22 being for loss, and 14 sacks, which was second-most in the league.
With that, Garrett has been a Pro Bowler in each of the last five seasons and been a First Team All-Pro in four of those five. In that half-decade, Garrett has averaged 49.6 tackles, 16.8 being for loss, and 14.4 sacks plus 14 forced fumbles with five recoveries.
It’s suffice to say that Garrett would be a monstrous addition to any team. Whether it’s the Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions, or a different franchise, if he’s truly on the move, it’ll take a massive haul to bring the superstar to town in 2025.
