Micah Parsons is destined for a huge contract extension with the Cowboys. The only question is when, not if, he’ll get his money from Jerry Jones and company.

Some have wondered whether he’d hold out ahead of the 2025 season to ensure becoming the highest-paid defensive player in the NFL. Well, that worry can be put to bed for Dallas fans, according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano. The analyst believes a deal will get done pretty seamlessly prior to the start of this coming season, without a holdout taking place.

“He’s likely to get an extension this offseason that makes him the highest-paid defensive player in the league,” Graziano stated, via Get Up on Friday. “We know that he and Jerry Jones have had conversations. We know the deal is not yet done. We know that Micah has been at some, not all, of the voluntary portion of this year’s off-season, but Micah Parsons, still looking for a deal.

“This is a deal, I think both sides agree, will get done at some point this off-season. I don’t think we have to worry about a Micah holdout in training camp.”

As you can tell, Graziano is confident that both sides will come to a satisfying agreement in due time. That echoes what his colleague at ESPN, Adam Schefter, reported. He doesn’t believe Parsons will step onto the field in the regular season without a new deal, and that it’s coming for the defensive star in Dallas.

“I would say that, eventually, both sides will figure out that deal and get it done,” Schefter said via Shan & RJ on Dallas’ 105.3 The Fan earlier this offseason. “That would be my guess. There’s so much money involved and Dallas is going to want to keep him; he’s going to want to stay.

“When you’re talking about $40+ million a year, or whatever the number is, why are you ever stepping foot on a football field until that deal is done? To me, they’ll figure out a way to get that deal done because the stakes are just too great not to.”

Micah Parsons is one of the biggest stars in the NFL, and the future remains bright for him in Dallas. He’s about to be a much, much richer man, and the Cowboys will be hoping it translates into some greater success and sustained winning, as well.
