There are a lot of rumors swirling around the NFL about some of the game’s best players. That, notably, includes star edge rushers Myles Garrett and Micah Parsons.

With Garrett looking to leave Cleveland and Parsons looking for a new contract in Dallas, ESPN insider Mike Tannenbaum feels that there is room for the Browns and Cowboys to make a trade. On Monday morning, he explained on Get Up why he would make a trade between the two players straight up.

“Micah Parsons straight up for Myles Garrett and here’s why,” Tannenbaum said. “Myles Garrett said he’s never going to play in Cleveland ever again. 29 years old, in the prime of a Hall of Fame career. Well, if I’m going to do that, I want to acquire a potential Hall of Famer in Micah Parsons.”

Myles Garrett has requested a trade out of Cleveland this offseason. He made it clear he has no interest in playing there any longer and wants to compete in the playoffs and for a Super Bowl. Meanwhile, Micah Parsons is in the final year of his rookie deal and is looking for what will likely be a massive contract extension.

In 2025, Garrett is going to be 29 for the start of the season. The NFL Defensive Player of the Year in 2023, he’s coming off a season where he had his fourth All-Pro effort and had 14 sacks. For his part, Parsons is younger at 26 for the start of next season. He’s coming off a 12-sack season in 13 games and has twice been named an All-Pro selection.

“Yeah, he’ll be more expensive because he’s in the last year of his deal. Myles Garrett is actually pretty reasonable with two years left to go on his deal,” Tannenbaum said. “But if I’m Cleveland and I’m trying to salvage a great pass rusher, and I’m convinced that Myles Garrett won’t play, this is a way to actually hold serve as a pass rush.”

Mike Tannenbaum did receive pushback for this trade proposal on Get Up. For his part, Dan Graziano explained that Garrett will need to be extended, which is an added expense. Then, Dan Orlovsky argued that if you want to save money, you should reset and get the picks, especially the Cowboys who need help at more than one position.

This is far from the first time Myles Garrett has been brought up in trades since his request. Among other teams seemingly interested are Minnesota, Philadelphia, and Detroit.
