The initial wave of NFL Free Agency has passed, and Aaron Rodgers remains unsigned. The Pittsburgh Steelers and the New York Giants are in the mix, as well as the Minnesota Vikings, but it’s anyone’s guess where the 41-year old will play in 2025.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler tried to shed some light on the matter during Saturday’s edition of SportsCenter. According to the insider, Rodgers has offers from both Pittsburgh and New York, and NFL circles believe he’ll eventually end up with the Steelers, but who prevails in the sweepstakes for the four-time NFL MVP remains to be seen. One thing is for sure, it’ll be Rodgers’ choice, and his choice alone.

“I’m told from a source that Aaron Rodgers has standing offers from the Pittsburgh Steelers [and] New York Giants,” Fowler revealed. “Those appear to be the two key players here. I know the Minnesota Vikings have sort of been on the peripheral here. I talked to somebody with the team who said, ‘It’s possible, but probably unlikely,’ given they want to develop J.J. McCarthy. He’s the priority there. But they at least appear to be the third team potentially in the mix here.

“Rodgers, as far as I know, is still mulling these offers. He’s not made any sort of firm determination yet. I don’t get the sense that this is all about money here. It’s about surroundings. The ability to win. Most people around the league do expect the Steelers to prevail here, as they do have the better on-field option.”

All told, it’s fascinating to see the Steelers and Giants fall over themselves to sign Rodgers, who hasn’t played at his past Hall of Fame level since taking his talents from Green Bay to the New York Jets. He enjoyed immense success over almost two decades with the Packers, but it hasn’t been smooth sailing since they decided to move on to Jordan Love as their starting quarterback.

Retirement was something many predicted for Rodgers, but it seems like he wants to go out a winner, instead of after a disappointing season with the Jets. Is that a possibility if he joins the Steelers or the Giants? It’s not out of the question, but it certainly won’t be an easy task for the veteran quarterback.

When will Aaron Rodgers make his decision? Well, only the enigmatic quarterback knows the answer to that question. Whether it’s the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants or even the Minnesota Vikings remains to be seen, and time will tell if it’s a successful marriage.
