ESPN releases electric USA-Canada 4 Nations hype video featuring Mike Eruzione, Miracle on Ice

ESPN released a hype video to get fans ready for the USA vs. Canada 4 Nations Face-Off championship game. The video is narrated by Mike Eruzione, a member of the 1980 USA hockey team that won the Olympic gold medal.
The video also features players from both teams and highlights from their first meeting in the 4 Nations Face-Off. In the matchup, USA defeated Canada 3-1. Jake Guentzel scored two goals for USA, and Connor McDavid scored the lone goal for Canada.
The first USA vs. Canada game featured three fights in the first nine seconds. It came right after fans in Montreal booed the USA national anthem.
“We needed to send a message,” USA hockey player Matthew Tkachuk said after the game, per PEOPLE. We’re here in Montreal on a Saturday night. We want it to be our time, and that message started right from the get-go.”

More on USA vs. Canada 4 Nations Face-Off championship
“We knew it was going to happen,” Zach Werenski, a defenseman for the U.S. team, told reporters Saturday night, “It happened the last game, it’s been happening in the NHL before this, and we knew tonight was going to be the same way. We obviously don’t like it.”
The 4 Nations Face-Off is a temporary replacement for the NHL’s traditional All-Star game, serving as a preview for the 2026 Winter Olympics. USA and Canada are two of the top hockey teams in the world with USA winning 11 Olympic medals (two gold) and Canada winning 16 Olympic medals (nine gold).
“I know how special it is to wear the USA jersey and after going that many years without it, it’s the greatest honor you can have,” Tkachuk said ahead of the championship game, per NHL.com. “The best part about being an American is how united we are and how are goals are the exact same and our commitment and just everything. How we sacrifice and how there’s one thing we want at the end of this and what we’re willing to get to that goal, I think that’s what’s been most incredible to me and it’s been under two weeks since we’ve gotten together. It’s definitely exceeded my expectations. It’s something we do not take for granted the opportunity to wear the USA jersey.”
