The estimated cost for the IndyCar race around the Dallas Cowboys’ A&T stadium has been revealed. According to Adam Stern of the Sports Business Journal, the race is expected to cost less than $50 million, and the IndyCar series will split the expense with the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers as the race will also bend around GlobeLife Field.

Mark Miles, the president and CEO of IndyCar parent company Penske Entertainment, told Stern the cost won’t be $50 million, but “it’s a meaningful amount of money.” Miles added, “One of the wonderful things besides the partners we’re working with is the facility.

“It’s pretty close to ideal for a temporary street circuit — the pavement, the roads, the parking lots, all the surfaces we need, are in relatively good condition and require relatively little expenditures to get into racing fitness, even things like telephone poles in the parking lot — they tend to be spaced further apart (at AT&T Stadium) than some places, so there’s less things you have to move — less infrastructure adjustments you have to make. So it’s not going to require $50 million.”

The race, which is called the Grand Prix of Arlington, is scheduled to take place in Arlington in March 2026. The track will be 2.73 miles long, and Fox will provide live coverage.

“We are thrilled to join forces with the Texas Rangers, Penske Entertainment, and the city of Arlington to bring Grand Prix racing to the streets of the Arlington Entertainment District,” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said in a statement. “The collaboration between our organizations will make the INDYCAR Grand Prix of Arlington special, providing a unique NTT INDYCAR SERIES race experience for fans attending, while also creating a showcase with our friends at FOX and those watching around the world. An event of this magnitude is another great reflection of what we imagined over 15 years ago that AT&T Stadium could be a part of.”

“Through a truly remarkable and innovative partnership, we’re going to build racing’s next global spectacle,” Penske Corporation chairman Roger Penske said. “Everyone involved is fully committed to delivering an incredible and unique event weekend for the city of Arlington, anchored by the stars of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. We’re grateful to the Cowboys, Rangers and REV Entertainment for entering into this partnership with us, and, of course, to Arlington’s leadership team for their excitement and ongoing support.”
