WATCH: Ezekiel Elliott, Mike McCarthy share touching moment with Terence Steele following score
It hasn’t been the easiest season for Cowboys offensive lineman Terence Steele. With the great Tyron Smith dealing with injuries, Steele was thrusts into action — he’s not Smith, but he’s done his best to protect Dak Prescott.
On Sunday, he was rewarded in a new way. As Dallas got creative on offense, Steele was able to reel in a touchdown reception for the first time in his career.
After the touchdown, Steele shared a touching moment with both running back Ezekiel Elliott and coach Mike McCarthy. In the moments following his score, Steele broke out the old, powerful spike. However, the football ended up in the stands afterwards.
According to The Athletic’s Jon Machota, Elliott made a move to get the football for Steele. In what could be the only touchdown of the offensive lineman’s career, his running back had his back.
Moreover, camera also captured Steele thanking McCarthy for giving him the opportunity to get into the end-zone.
There’s no better way for Steele to thank McCarthy than with a huge bear hug. As you can see, the Cowboys offensive lineman didn’t expect to score a touchdown this season — but he’ll forever be grateful for being able to say he did.
The Cowboys receiving corps is loaded, with Amari Cooper, CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup leading the way. However, perhaps Terence Steele will get some more time running routes in practice after his touchdown catch.
Cowboys dominate Washington
After a competitive showdown just two weeks ago, Mike McCarthy expected a hard-fought game between his Cowboys and Washington. However, Dallas absolutely dominated the Football Team while the world watched.

From the jump, the Cowboys were the better team. On the first offensive play for Washington, quarterback Taylor Heinicke was intercepted by none other than Trevon Diggs. Afterwards, an Ezekiel Elliott touchdown capped off a nine-play drive.
Then, the Dallas defense forced a stop and the Cowboys offense scored again to go up 14-0. Then, a wild DeMarcus Lawrence pick-six gave the Cowboys a 21-0 lead in a blink of an eye.
Moreover, the game was over by halftime — Dallas was up 42-7 as the team went into the locker room. McCarthy and company could’ve had their party then if they wanted to.
After weeks of uneven play, Dak Prescott had arguably his best game of the season. The former Mississippi State star completed 28 of 39 passes, amassing 330 yards and four touchdowns.
Additionally, Elliott had one of his most productive outings — scoring one rushing touchdown and catching one receiving. The Cowboys offense is finding their stride.
Mike McCarthy didn’t want to celebrate the division victory prior to kickoff. However, the Cowboys will enjoy this accomplishment wholeheartedly.
