Ezekiel Elliott reportedly being sued over alleged dog attack

Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is being sued for more than $1 million over an alleged dog attack, according to TMZ. This is the third time in the past 14 months Elliott has been sued because of his dogs.

The neighbor of the former Ohio State running back, Jennifer Gampper, claims his dog attacked and bit her. She said she suffered severe and permanent injuries, but doesn’t offer any details. She is also suing Perfect Synthetic Grass, which was doing landscape work at Elliott’s house at the time of the attack on May 20.

Police were called to the scene, where they secured three dogs that had escaped. They placed Elliott’s Rottweiler in a 10-day quarantine after determining it bit Gampper and one other person. Both were treated at the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Elliott was issued three citations for “Dogs at Large”.

This isn’t the first time his dogs have gotten him into the news. A pool cleaner also claimed the canines attacked her in March of 2020. She said the Rottweiler bit her arm and dragged her while two bulldogs bit her legs. The woman needed to have surgery after the incident, and is suing for more than $200,000. Elliott has another pending case where a pet resort employee claimed one of his dogs viciously bit him on March 25.

A court official told TMZ there was a “dangerous dog hearing” after Gampper’s incident and the Rottweiler, named Ace, was removed from the city.

Ezekiel Elliott’s attorney Frank Salanzo said the running back is concerned about Gampper, but not at fault for what happened.

“Mr. Elliott and his representatives are aware of the lawsuit filed on July 30th, which stems from a previously reported incident from May 21st of this year,” Salanzo told TMZ. “As Mr. Elliott expressed at that time, he was – and remains concerned – for the party involved.

“However, as in most disputes, there are extenuating circumstances to this matter which will impact the legal proceedings which we are not at liberty to disclose.  As such, we have no further comment at this time.”

With the season a little more than a month away, this is likely the last thing the Dallas Cowboys star wanted to deal with. He is coming off of his worst year as a pro, but much is still expected from the three-time Pro Bowl selection.

Hopefully both parties can settle the situations civilly, and those injured are properly taken care of. Perhaps Elliott can invest in a few cages to keep the dogs locked up when there is company.
