Falcons RB Bijan Robinson talks gaining 'confidence' for 2024 season, partnership with ORB Innovations
Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson is emerging as a top running back in the NFL after having a strong rookie season in 2023. Robinson recently spoke to On3 about how the game has slowed down for him in his second year in the league.
“Definitely slowed down. I feel like as players and for me especially, I have to get used to the speed of the game, the mentality of the game, especially in college,” Robinson told On3. “From my first year as a freshman to my sophomore year, you saw a drastic difference.
“It is the same thing for the NFL. You have to really grow confidence, gain confidence from every offseason. And that’s exactly what I did. But it definitely slowed down for me. I know people always ask me, ‘Is the game ever fast for you?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, I’m on the field seeing a lot of flying bullets.’ But then in Year 2 is when things start to click and is when things start to really move at your pace.”
Through eight games this season, Bijan Robinson has 546 rushing yards, four rushing touchdowns, 244 receiving yards and one receiving TD. He has 790 yards from scrimmage, the fourth-best total in the NFL behind New Orleans Saints RB Alvin Kamara, Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley and Baltimore Ravens RB Derrick Henry.
Why ORB Sport Smart Mouthguard is ‘important’ for Bijan Robinson
But can Bijan Robinson get to 2,000 yards from scrimmage this season? “Obviously, I treat every single week the same too, and I prepare at the highest level that I can and go into every single game being as prepared as possible and just let God give me gifts showing me,” the Texas Longhorns alum said. “But that’s definitely the main goal and we’re going to see how I can help this team and I’m going to do whatever I can to help this offense, but I know that stats and stuff are great, but it is definitely not something that I focus on. It’s just something that I just go into every single game trying to play my best for the team.”

One reason Robinson is playing at a high level is the mouthguard he uses. The 22-year-old has partnered with ORB Innovations to launch the ORB Sport Smart Mouthguard. Robinson uses it to monitor data, offering him a view of his performance while protecting against dental injuries.
“This has been just a great partnership with me, and for me, it is just really important because it’s the only mouthguard that tracks your data when it comes to heart rate and just the impact that I take week to week on the field. And obviously, with me being a running back, that’s very important,” Robinson said.
“With ORB just being just so high in technology and technology is definitely what’s taking over, not just the world but the sports industry as well. And it is really key in football that it is at such a high level, but with ORB it is a difference because they have an app that tracks everything from how much you’re getting impacted on sides of your body and how much is maybe hurting more in some places.”
