Mayhem occurred Saturday evening during a baseball game between the Chicago Cubs and Chicago White Sox as a fan ran onto the field. That resulted in a chase from security guards who eventually caught up to him and tackled him to the ground.

That wasn’t the end of it, however, as another fan entered the field and appeared to injure his foot while trying to escape back over the left center wall. He fell to the ground and security then started tending to him to make sure he was OK.

The medical cart then came out to take him off the field to be tended to. You can view the bizarre moment below.

The incidents occurred just before the bottom of the ninth inning and caused a slight delay at the end of the game. The White Sox trailed 3-1 at the time after giving up two runs in the eighth inning, and that was the score they would go on to lose by.

Hopefully the fan who injured himself will be OK, but this goes to show you how quickly things often go wrong for people who decide to interfere with play.

The loss dropped the White Sox to 28-91 on the season, the worst record in the entire MLB. They are next set to begin a series against the New York Yankees on Monday.

Chicago White Sox fire manager Pedro Grifol after abysmal losing streak

The Chicago White Sox are having one of the worst seasons in the history of MLB. Now, the organization has decided to make a change and move on from manager Pedro Grifol.

This comes at a point in the season when the White Sox are 28-89 and 40.5 games back in the AL Central. Chicago is also coming off an abysmal losing streak that saw the White Sox drop 21 straight games. That was tied for the second-longest losing streak in the history of MLB.

“As we all recognize, our team’s performance this season has been disappointing on many levels,” said Chris Getz, the White Sox senior VP and general manager. “Despite the on-field struggles and lack of success, we appreciate the effort and professionalism of Pedro and the staff brought to the ballpark every day. These two seasons have been very challenging. Unfortunately, the results were not there, and a change is necessary as we look to our future and the development of a new energy around the team.”
