Florida has been quite competitive over the last month after a start at 1-2. They won by 17 at Mississippi State before coming off their first bye with an 11-point victory over UCF. Then, in a rivalry on Rocky Top, the Gators took No. 8 Tennessee to overtime before losing on a walk-off score for the Volunteers. Still, last weekend, they won again at 48-20 over Kentucky to begin the back half of their season. It’s a stretch that has them at 4-3 now and was much-needed too with what their final five games still look like.

Georgia also impressed in their last outing after a so-so last month. A one-point win at Kentucky, a loss at Alabama, and then two home wins over Auburn by 18 and Mississippi State by 10 didn’t do much for the Bulldogs. That was before winning at 30-15 against Texas in a top-five matchup on The 40 Acres. That was the reminder of what they are that the sport had been looking for with them at 6-1 before their own last five games.
