Aaron Rodgers worked out with DK Metcalf as he decides on if he wants to play with the Pittsburgh Steelers. A photographer named Alex Amen obtained footage of Rodgers throwing passes to Metcalf at UCLA on Monday. Amen also shared a photo of Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf after their workout.

The interesting thing about this workout is that Metcalf signed with the Steelers this offseason, and Rodgers recently met with the team. It’s unclear if Rodgers will join the Steelers for the 2025 season, but this workout session with Metcalf is a good sign that it could happen.

Over the weekend, Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin talked about the Steelers’ meeting with Aaron Rodgers and if there’s a timeline to sign him. “Not to my knowledge,” he said. “You know, I don’t know that we’ve approached it from a deadline perspective. Certainly, as I mentioned, you’d like to have settled circumstances. But, you know, deadlines don’t often bring that to a head.”

Tomlin also talked about having a Plan B if they don’t sign Rodgers. “I don’t know if we are identifying anything as Plan A, Plan B or Plan C. We’re just simply looking at the field of available people, whether it’s free agency or the draft, and making decisions & gathering information accordingly,” Tomlin stated.

More on Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf

Rodgers is looking for a new team after spending the last two seasons with the New York Jets. It was not a memorable run in New York as he missed nearly all of the 2023 season and led the Jets to a 5-11 record in 2024. Aaron Rodgers spent his first 18 seasons with the Green Bay Packers and led to team to a Super Bowl win during the 2010 season. Rodgers also won the MVP award four times and was named to the Pro Bowl 10 times during his time in Green Bay.

DK Metcalf joined the Steelers after spending his first six NFL seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. He has been named to the Pro Bowl twice and selected to the All-Pro Second Team in 2020 after catching 83 passes for 1,303 yards and 10 touchdowns. Last season, Metcalf recorded 66 receptions for 992 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games.
