Former 49ers RB Tevin Coleman reacts to team's struggles: 'I think they're going to turn things around'
Former San Francisco 49ers running back Tevin Coleman is confident the team will get back on track and make a run during the final weeks of the season. On3 recently caught up with Coleman who shared his thoughts on what needs to happen for the 49ers to return to their winning ways.
“I think they’re going to turn things around,” Coleman told On3. “With them right now, it’s just a lot of injuries going on. So once they get everybody healthy, they’ll be that team that they was when I was playing, so hopefully they can get back. Kyle Shanahan, that’s my guy, and he’s definitely still doing an amazing job and doing a great job by coaching those guys. So hopefully they can get back, they can change things around and still be that team that they was.”
Currently, the 49ers are 5-6 and tied for last place in the NFC West. They have yet to win back-to-back games and have allowed as many points as they have scored (260). As Coleman mentioned, a big reason for the 49ers’ lack of consistency is injuries as players such as Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, Nick Bosa and Brock Purdy have either missed time or are out for the rest of the season.

When he returned to the 49ers in 2022, Coleman was part of the team that reached the NFC Championship game, which was the final game of his career.

Just spending more quality time with my family, just being there for my family, for my daughter, and for my son, for my wife, and things like that. So that’s what I’ve been doing.”
