Report: Former Alabama linebacker Rashaan Evans visiting new NFL team
Rashaan Evans has spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Tennessee Titans. The former Alabama linebacker was selected by the Titans with the 22nd overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Now, with Evans sitting as a free agent, he is set to visit the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
“Titans’ free-agent linebacker Rashaan Evans is visiting the Jaguars tonight, per source,” Schefter tweeted.
Evans has been productive with the Titans, totaling 317 tackles across his four-year NFL career. He erupted in 2019, finishing the season with 111 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, eight quarterback hits, 2.5 sacks, one fumble recovery, and one defensive touchdown. He had 96 tackles the next season in 2020.
This past season, Evans totaled 57 tackles with three tackles for loss, two interceptions, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery with the Titans. He is now a free agent and open to sign with any team in the NFL. The jaguars would certainly be an interesting fit.
At Alabama, Evans starred on the Crimson Tide defense. In his four-year collegiate career, he totaled 150 tackles with 23.5 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, five passes defended, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.

Evans could replace Myles Jack with the Jaguars
The Jaguars have been heavy spenders throughout free agency so far. After their initial spending spree, though, Jacksonville released linebacker Myles Jack. Jack has since signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now, the Jaguars have a hole on the defense, and Evans could be the perfect fit to fill it.
The Jaguars have also signed linebacker Foyesade Oluokun, formerly with the Atlanta Falcons, to a three-year deal worth $45 million. But adding Evans would certainly help improve the Jacksonville defense.
Here are the other moves from the Jaguars this offseason:
Wide receiver Christian Kirk: Four years, $72 million
Guard Brandon Scherff: Three years, $49.5 million
Cornerback Darious Williams: Three years, $30 million
Defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi: Three years, $30 million
Wide receiver Zay Jones: Three years, $24 million
Tight end Evan Engram: One year, $9 million
