Former Division-I baseball player Christian Rose is getting his big break… in NASCAR! He will debut in the Truck Series at Richmond. When the end of July comes around, Rose will officially be a NASCAR driver. He was once on the ball team for the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore. Now he’s a full-timer in the ARCA Menards Series.

Already in just two short years, Christian Rose has garnered plenty of attention for his driving. Rose hopped into an ARCA car for the first time in the West Series. He lined up at Las Vegas and All-American Speedway and earned a P10 and P7 result, respectively. Since then, he’s been giving this racing thing a real shot.

AM Racing announced on Thursday that Rose would get his shot in the Truck Series. The Richmond race coming up in July is going to be a real test of his talents. In the last two ARCA races, Rose finished P9 and P8 at Kansas and Charlotte.

This year we have seen other ARCA Series drivers get a chance in the Truck Series. Jesse Love, who is on a three-race win streak in the lower series got his first start at St. Louis. Toni Breidinger has raced twice this season in the Truck Series.

Christian Rose is the next one up. The 27-year-old is going to try and make the best of his opportunity in his Ford F-150 race truck.

Christian Rose hopes to prove himself early

Clearly, Christian Rose is an athlete. He didn’t play for the biggest name school in college, but a D1 athlete is a D1 athlete. That dedication to sport and to a craft has clearly come to his racing career. The West Virginia native will have a home crowd, hopefully, as he takes to the track at Richmond.

Right now, Rose sits in fifth place in the ARCA Menards standings. He is behind Andres Perez De Lara, Jack Wood (USA), Frankie Muniz, and the series leader, Jesse Love. In five races he has two top-10 finishes and a lot of promise ahead.

No one is expecting Christian Rose to go out and win in his Truck Series debut. But it is a big deal to get that NASCAR start. If he can hold a pretty wheel and keep the truck moving the entire race, he should do just fine.

With all of the contact and wrecking that goes on in the Truck Series, it will be hard to judge his performance if he doesn’t make it to the checkered flag. Rose will get his shot at the end of July though. And that’s all that a driver can ask for.
