Former Florida State star Jordan Travis is reportedly close to being fully cleared to return to action after a gruesome injury cut his 2023 season short.

Ian Rapoport posted an update on the ACC Player of the Year Thursday morning on Twitter.

“Florida St QB and draft prospect Jordan Travis, whose season ended with an ankle injury, was told by doctors during a recent checkup that he should be fully cleared by April, according to his agent,” Rapoport posted.

That is obviously great news for Travis, who had FSU in position to reach the College Football Playoff, prior to going down with an ankle injury in the 11th game of the season.

In less than 11 full games, Jordan Travis was 207-for-324 passing for 2,756 yards with 20 touchdowns and only two interceptions. He also rushed for 176 yards and seven touchdowns and finished fifth in Heisman voting.

Florida State won the ACC and was 13-0 in 2023, before being blown out by Georgia in the Orange Bowl. The Seminoles were passed over for the College Football Playoff, despite going undefeated, in what was a controversial move. That led to several players opting out of the Orange Bowl and FSU eventually getting routed in the game.

Jordan Travis played six seasons of college football in total after starting his career at Louisville. He appeared in three games for the Cardinals in 2018.
