Report: Frank Clark signing with Denver Broncos
NFL insider Jordan Schultz reported Thursday that former Kansas City Chiefs pass rusher Frank Clark has found a new home. The free agent will be staying in the AFC West division next season and will be signing with the Denver Broncos according to Schultz.
Kansas City released Clark this offseason on March 7, saving the Chiefs $21 million against their 2023 salary cap. And according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Clark’s contract with the Broncos is a one-year deal worth up to $7.5 million, which includes a $5.5 million guaranteed base salary, $1 million in makeable incentives, and another challenging $1 million in incentives.
Clark spent the last four seasons with Kansas City after being traded from the Seattle Seahawks in 2019, where he was a key piece and difference maker in the Chiefs’ two Super Bowl LIV and LVII wins.
The 29-year-old is not just a two-time Super Bowl champion, but a three-time Pro Bowl selectee who’s known to play his best football in the postseason. Last season Clark only had five sacks, his lowest total since his rookie year in Seattle, but he’s more than proven his worth as a pass rusher during his eight-year career in the NFL.
In his career, Clark has 59.5 sacks, 15 forced fumbles, and seven fumble recoveries on his resume, but also notably ranks third all-time in NFL history in postseason sacks with 13.5, only sitting behind Willie McGinest and NFL Hall of Famer Bruce Smith.

If the Broncos make a playoff push under new head coach Sean Payton, Clark could potentially be a big-time defensive catalyst in Mile High.
Denver’s defense last season was one of the best in the NFL, ranking within the top ten in the league in yards allowed per game. But they did struggle in generating pressure, ranking within the bottom 10 teams in the league in sacks last season with just 36 on the year.
The Broncos did trade defensive end Bradley Chubb eight games into last season along with a 2025 fifth-round pick to the Miami Dolphins for a 2024 fourth-round pick running back Chase Edmunds (who Denver released in March). Clark could potentially step up and replace the production and presence on the edge of Denver’s defense since Chubb has left, with both players proving they’re capable of double digit sack seasons.
The Broncos also signed former Arizona Cardinals defensive lineman Zach Allen to a three-year deal, $45.75 million this offseason to bolster up their defensive front.
