Former LSU, NFL running back Stevan Ridley arrested in hometown
According to a report from TMZ, former LSU running back Stevan Ridley was arrested over the weekend in his hometown of Natchez, Mississippi. According to a Natchez Police official, Ridley was arrested Saturday night/early Sunday morning for two charges that remain unknown.
Ridley was released from custody on Sunday, and has been retired from football since his final season in the NFL with the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2018.
Ridley was a four-star recruit out of Trinity Episcopal Day School in Natchez, ranked the No. 22 running back in the nation and the No. 207 overall player in the 2007 class according to On3 Consensus. Ridley chose LSU out of high school, and in three seasons with the Tigers rushed for 1,419 yards and 19 touchdowns on 306 carries.
He was selected as the No. 73 pick overall in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the New England Patriots. Ridley was a part of two championship teams on both levels as a member of LSU’s 2007 BCS Championship victory and the Patriots Super Bowl XLIX win over the Seattle Seahawks.

Ridley spent eight seasons in the NFL, playing for the Patriots, the New York Jets, the Atlanta Falcons, and the Steelers during his professional career. He ended his NFL career with 3,102 yards on the ground and 24 rushing touchdowns.

Ridley served as a reserved running back for LSU in 2008 and 2008, but in 2010 solidified himself as one of the best running backs in all of college football. He was named a permanent offensive captain for the Tigers in 2010, and as their primary running back rushed for 1,147 yards and 15 touchdowns.
He earned first-team All-SEC honors that season by the conference and second-team All-SEC honors by the Associated Press, following one of the top running back seasons in school history. He rushed for a touchdown in all but three games for the Tigers that season, and ran for over 100 yards in four games, including his final game as a Tiger in the Cotton Bowl versus Texas A&M helping lead them to a 41-24 win behind his 105 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown.
