Report: Former Oregon star Ugo Amadi quickly traded again to Tennessee Titans
Former Oregon star Ugo Amadi was quickly traded again on Wednesday, this time from the Philadelphia Eagles to the Tennessee Titans in a deal that involved late round 2024 draft picks, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The Titans will be his third team in 10 days. He was recently with the Seattle Seahawks, then was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday, Aug. 15th for J.J. Arcega-Whiteside.
Now, he’s returning to his hometown of Nashville with the Titans. He played a total of 33 snaps in the Eagles’ preseason game on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns–racking up four tackles.
Amadi struggled in pass coverage for the Seahawks during the past two seasons. In 2021, he was graded out at 43.7, per Pro Football Focus. He was drafted by the Seahawks in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft (132nd overall selection).
During his college career with the Oregon Ducks, Amadi established himself among the nation’s elite at his position, once he found his niche at safety. The dynamic safety scored four touchdowns in his final two seasons with the Ducks–including three coming on interceptions returned for touchdowns. In 2018, Amadi became the first player in college football with two pick sixes and a punt return for touchdown in the same season since Minkah Fitzpatrick did it for the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2015. He also became one of just four players in a Power Five conference to snag a pair of pick sixes during the 2018 campaign.

The Nashville native racked up a number of awards and accolades during his senior season with the Ducks in 2018–earning Pac-12 second team honors from the Associated Press and winning the Lombardi Award, given to the nation’s best player regardless of position. A few of the previous Lombardi Award winners include Bryce Love (Stanford), Luke Kuechly (Boston College), and Ndamukong Suh (Nebraska).
During his career with Oregon, he racked up 165 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, eight interceptions, two touchdowns, 33 passes defended, four forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
Coming out of John Overton High School (Nashsville, Tennessee), Amadi was rated as a four-star defensive back and the No. 36 corner in America, according to the On3 Consensus Rankings for the 2015 cycle. He chose Oregon over offers from Cincinnati, Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, and many others.
