A former Carolina Panthers executive has been arrested on three charges of domestic violence, according to the Scottsdale Police Department.

The three charges for former vice president of player personnel Adrian Wilson were for intentional assault causing physical injury, damage to property ranging from $250-$2,000 and disorderly conduct, disruptive behavior or fighting, ESPN reports.

Wilson had recently left the Panthers after a long career in the NFL as both a player and an executive.

He spent 13 years as a player, most notably as a safety for the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals drafted him as a third-round pick back in 2001.

Following 12 years with the Cardinals, Wilson spent brief stints with the New England Patriots and the Chicago Bears.

During his playing days, Adrian Wilson racked up 162 starts and tallied 903 tackles, 81.0 tackles for a loss, 25.5 sacks, 16 forced fumbles, eight fumble recoveries and 27 interceptions. He recorded two defensive touchdowns.

Following his playing days, he transitioned into a personnel role with the Cardinals. He first served as a regional scout in 2015, but he later gained promotions in 2019 and 2021. He had served with the Panthers for 18 months.

ESPN noted that Adrian Wilson received interest in and interviewed for general manager jobs with the New York Giants and the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2022, though he would not land either gig.

Steelers CB Cam Sutton suspended eight games

The NFL announced Monday it has suspended Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Cameron Sutton for the first eight games of the 2024 season for violating the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.

Sutton, 29, turned himself into Hillsborough County (FL) authorities in March after a warrant was issued for his arrest for an alleged assault. He was charged with one misdemeanor count of domestic battery and released from jail. The NFL investigated the incident and determined Sutton violated its policy. Sutton is eligible for reinstatement on October 29 following Pittsburgh’s Week 8 home contest against the New York Giants.

He started all 17 games for the Detroit Lions this past season, tallying a career-high 65 tackles (50 solo), four tackles for loss, one interception and six passes defended. Sutton spent the previous six seasons with the Steelers, who selected him in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Tennessee.

He appeared in 84 games (39 starts) for Pittsburgh. Sutton compiled 168 tackles (143 solo), eight tackles for loss, eight interceptions and 38 passes defended. Sutton signed a three-year, $33 million deal with $22.5 million guaranteed with the Lions last offseason. The Steelers re-signed Sutton in early June following his release from the Lions.
