Joy Taylor was on her Stephen A. Smith flow when it comes to the Dallas Cowboys on the Fourth of July.

No, Taylor wasn’t praising America’s Team on Independence Day. Instead she decided to take some fascinating shots at Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott.

Evidently, Taylor doesn’t believe Prescott is good enough to get Dallas to an NFC title game, let alone a Super Bowl, and she let her thoughts flow in all their glory.

“A miracle,” responded Taylor, asked what she needs to see from the Cowboys signal-caller this season. “If I said what do you need to see from Kirk Cousins this year, would you be like, ‘Nah, we’re not doing that today, Joy come on. I know it’s Fourth of July, but we’ve got other stuff to talk about.’ Dak Prescott is not that talented. We’ve seen that. He’s good enough to get the team to the playoffs. Kirk does that. He’s good enough to win a playoff game. Kirk does that.

“He’s good enough to have a high-flying offense. Good regular season record. Win a division. All those things are inherently good things. They make you a franchise quarterback. You will get paid doing that. You will get endorsements doing that. You will be the face of a franchise doing that. But we don’t have to talk about you as if you are a Super Bowl contender doing that.”

Sheesh, Taylor decided to come for Prescott’s neck in grand fashion, and continued to compare him to the aforementioned Cousins, believing that we shouldn’t be talking about the Cowboys as potential Super Bowl victors.

“To get to an NFC Championship Game. Forget talking about a Super Bowl. Get to an NFC Championship Game,” added Taylor. “Dak has been the reason why they have lose multiple years against the same team. I think Dak is a great face of an organization. I think he does a tremendous job being the face of the Dallas Cowboys, which I think is actually a very difficult thing to do, outside of just what you have to do between the lines.

“I think he’s talented enough to win regular season games, to win the division, to put up big numbers, to get to the playoffs, to win a playoff game. He’s done all of those things. But we talk about this team like they should be Super Bowl contenders, why? Do we talk about the Vikings like they’re Super Bowl contenders? No we don’t. We don’t. Because they get to the postseason and they disappoint. And why do they disappoint in the postseason? (Kirk Cousins).”

That’s some ruthless analysis from FOX’s Joy Taylor, but it’s tough to argue with Dak Prescott’s playoff results. She has a point, but maybe the Cowboys will prove her wrong in 2023.
