FOX Sports has dropped their latest NASCAR power rankings following an exciting Quaker State 400 at Atlanta.

William Byron came away victorious in the rain-shortened race, but it didn’t propel him all the way to the top spot. No, instead it was Kyle Busch, who put together another impressive run while some of his most ferocious competitors faltered, taking the top spot.

“With seven consecutive top-10 finishes, including four top-5 finishes in his last five races, Kyle Busch is back atop the power rankings,” wrote FOX’s Bob Pockrass. “Granted, some of those finishes were thanks to strategy and fortunate circumstances, but he’s still getting results while other drivers struggle to capitalize on having fast cars.

“William Byron moves up three spots to fourth thanks to his win Sunday at Atlanta Motor Speedway.”

While Busch is atop the list, the rest of FOX’s power rankings are bound to cause conversation, as well. Check them out in full below, as the rest of the field is chasing the No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet at the moment.

FOX’s NASCAR power rankings following Quaker State 400:

  1. No. 8 Kyle Busch (+3)
  2. No. 5 Kyle Larson (-1)
  3. No. 19 Martin Truex Jr. (-1)
  4. No. 24 William Byron (+3)
  5. No. 11 Denny Hamlin (—)
  6. No. 1 Ross Chastain (-3)
  7. No. 20 Christopher Bell (-1)
  8. No. 12 Ryan Blaney (+2)
  9. No. 9 Chase Elliott (-1)
  10. No. 6 Brad Keselowski (—)

On the verge: No. 17 Chris Buescher, No. 48 Alex Bowman, No. 4 Kevin Harvick, No. 22 Joey Logano, No. 34 Michael McDowell, No. 45 Tyler Reddick

As you can see, the aforementioned Busch and Byron were the two biggest movers, both gaining three spots following Atlanta’s race. However, the controversial Ross Chastain moved three spots in the wrong direction, as his rollercoaster season continues with him falling from No. 3 to No. 6 in FOX’s rankings.

Elsewhere, Kyle Larson and Martin Truex Jr. were passed by Busch, but they’re still holding serve inside the top three. Rounding out the top five is Truex Jr.’s teammate in Denny Hamlin, who stayed put at No. 5 in the rankings.

Continuing, a couple of drivers needing a win to get into the playoffs came in towards the end of the power rankings, led by none other than the series’ most popular driver in Chase Elliott. He’s ninth overall at the moment, but that could change in a big way if he finds Victory Lane.

We’re entering crunch time for many driver’s playoff hopes, and that’ll continue to be reflected in FOX’s rankings, which will be fascinating to watch moving forward.
