Fox to cancel 'NASCAR Race Hub,' final show to air in June

The one-hour daily show NASCAR Race Hub is coming to an end on Fox Sports 1 (FS1). According to Racer, Fox is canceling the show and the final episode will air on Tuesday, June 11. Fox Sports employees were informed of the show’s future on Wednesday.

NASCAR Race Hub debuted on Oct. 12, 2009. It first aired on the Speed channel before moving to FS1 in 2013. Adam Alexander and Krista Voda were the original hosts, but the show has seen different hosts over the years as well as more driver and crew chief analysts. Jamie McMurray, David Ragan, and Michael Waltrip are among the other former drivers still involved with the program.

“FS1’s longest-running daily studio show, NASCAR RACE HUB brings viewers closer to the inner workings of NASCAR by providing unique access to drivers and race teams,” the official synopsis states. “Prominent NASCAR drivers stop by the Hub on a daily basis to offer in-depth analysis of the week’s race and storylines. Co-hosted by Adam Alexander, Shannon Spake, Kaitlyn Vincie and Josh Sims.”

‘NASCAR Race Hub’ fans are not happy with the decision

NASCAR fans were not happy to hear the news about the long-running show. “Really sad to hear the NASCAR Race Hub is going away at the end of FOX’S Tenure, I grew up watching Race Hub when I came home from school and now seeing it go now hurts,” one person on social media wrote.

“I hate to hear about NASCAR Race Hub’s demise as it will impact a lot of hard working people in this industry,” Toby Christie of Racing America wrote. “I’m sad for them, and at the same time puzzled by the move by FOX.

The move to cancel NASCAR Race Hub is interesting considering Fox is a big media partner with NASCAR. This year marks the 24th season Fox is broadcasting NASCAR races with Mike Joy, Clint Bowyer and Kevin Harvick as part of the broadcasting team. Harvick is new to Fox as he retired from full-time racing last year. Along with being an analyst during the races, Harvick also has a Fox podcast called Kevin Harvick’s Happy Hour.

“My new FOX Sports podcast will allow us to spend more time and dig a little deeper into a wider variety of subjects in the racing world,” Harvick said in February. “It will be a laidback and fun outlet for sharing different ideas and perspectives you can’t get anywhere else.”
