Today at Berlin Raceway the ARCA Menards Series returns. Frankie Muniz is still in the hunt for a championship, but he has work to do. This season, Muniz has earned some solid finishes and sits second in the ARCA standings. He’s got a lot of real-deal NASCAR talent to face, though.

In the last three races, Jesse Love and Venturini Motorsports have picked up three straight wins. Meanwhile, Muniz has been quietly making laps and earning top-10 finishes. If the No. 30 Rette Jones Racing team wants to compete for a title, something has to start happening sooner rather than later.

Frankie Muniz knows Love is the one to beat right now. With a new sponsor and scheme, why not start tonight?

“I feel like we’ve accomplished a lot,” Muniz said in a press release. “Top-10 finishes are important for our game plan, but we need to start processing forward and aim at turning those top-10s into top-fives and hopefully a win or two before the end of the year.

“Those types of finishes are what are going to keep us in the hunt for the championship. Jesse [Love] is certainly on his game right now, but we are not out of the hunt yet and I know our Rette Jones Rcaing team will continue to bring fast Ford Mustangs to the track and it will be my responsibility to try and make the most of that speed. I am looking forward to Berlin and this busy but fun summer stretch.”

It is about to get very busy for Frankie Muniz and the ARCA Menards Series.

Frankie Muniz prepared for the summer stretch

Between February 18 and May 26, the ARCA Menards Series only races five times. However, once the summer schedule gets underway, it is nonstop. The ARCA schedule will be almost weekly between now and October. There are breaks here and there, but it is far busier than the first stretch of the year.

That could be very beneficial to Frankie Muniz. He hasn’t been in a car often. He gets limited time doing simulations and things given that he lives in Arizona. However, the summer could be when we see the rise of Muniz if he makes the most of his chances.

Of course, Love and his team are running insanely fast times. No one seems to be able to catch up to them. Perhaps some short-track racing at Berlin Raceway will turn luck around for someone else.

At the last short-track race at Phoenix, Muniz had a great race. He avoided wrecks like he typically does and got himself up to a P6 finish. He’s run in the top-5 at times this season but will need to be more aggressive if he plans on making that a common occurrence.

Will Frankie Muniz, or anyone else for that matter, be able to catch Jesse Love?
