After another week and another top-10 finish last week for Frankie Muniz the ARCA rookie is ready to tackle Elko Speedway. The Menards 250 is going to test this young group of future NASCAR drivers. Muniz is hoping to earn his first top-5 finish of the season with a good result tonight.

Ahead of the Elko race, Frankie Muniz recalled the lessons learned at Berlin Raceway a week ago. The ARCA Menards Series is starting to heat up as races will be every week or at least every other week from here until the finale in October.

Berlin is a track unlike any other, but so is Elko. Muniz has shown a knack for fast learning and will hope to use that to his advantage.

“I learned a ton last weekend at Berlin Raceway,” Muniz said, via Rette Jones Racing.

“I continue to learn every time I climb in my No. 30 Rette Jones Racing Ford Mustang and with every lap turned. Berlin was like nothing I had ever experienced in my racing career to this point, but I also feel like it was a good ‘test’ to set myself up on what to expect at some of these tracks coming up this summer and fall.”

This season, Frankie Muniz is second in the points standings. He trails only Jesse Love by a narrow point margin. He will hope to shorten that lead and try to earn himself a win in the process.

Frankie Muniz starting P5 after qualifying rained out

Due to bad weather, the ARCA Menards Series was unable to get going in qualifying. There should be no issue tonight for the race but it was a little too wet to run qualifying. Instead, the starting order was set by the practice results.

William Sawalich is on the pole while Frankie Muniz is down at P5. He will start behind a strong group of Toyotas. Jesse Love, Connor Jones, and Sean Hingorani are all in front of Muniz to get this race started.

There isn’t a lot that Muniz can do to prepare for Elko Speedway except listen to his team and watch film. These really small tracks are always hard to get around because they all have their own quirks. However, this 3/8th mile track should be plenty of space for Muniz to work with.

Five top-10 finishes out of six races. A season-worst finish of P11 on the year. Frankie Muniz is in control of his own destiny. He just has to get around these Toyotas first. Muniz is typically stand-offish in the beginning of races, I think he needs to get aggressive if he wants a shot at winning.
