Following a visit with the Dallas Cowboys on Wednesday, former Jaguars receiver Zay Jones is headed for Kansas City. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Jones will meet with the Chiefs as he continues his search for his next team. Before visiting with Jerry Jones’ squad, he also had meetings with the Tennessee Titans and Arizona Cardinals.

Jones became a free agent following the 2024 NFL Draft following a two-season stint in Jacksonville. The Jaguars released him after drafting former LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. in the first round.

In March, Jones had misdemeanor domestic battery charges against him dropped in Duval County. The seventh-year veteran had his best season to date in 2022. He caught a career-high 82 passes for 823 yards and five scores.

Through his first seven seasons in the league, Jones has accumulated 287 receptions, 3,028 yards and 18 touchdowns in 104 regular-season games. In the Jaguars’ 2022 postseason run, he added another 13 receptions and 157 yards with one touchdown.

Jones has played for the Bills, Raiders and Jaguars so far in his career. The Bills took him with the 37th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft out of East Carolina.

The Titans might be out of the running for Jones after they signed former Bengals receiver Tyler Boyd on Tuesday.

Titans add veteran Tyler Boyd in free agency

Former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd will be heading to Nashville this fall. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Boyd will sign a one-year contract with the Tennessee Titans after spending eight years with the Bengals. The contract is worth up to $4.5 million.

The reported signing comes a few days after Boyd visited the Titans. He will be reunited with head coach Brian Callahan who previously served as the Bengals offensive coordinator from 2019 to 2023. Boyd’s contract expired after the 2023 season, and he finished the year with 67 receptions for 667 yards and two touchdowns.

Boyd was selected in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft by the Bengals after being a three-time All-ACC player with the Pittsburgh Panthers. In his rookie season, Boyd caught 54 passes for 603 yards and one touchdown. His best season was in 2019 when he registered 90 receptions for 1,046 yards and five scores.
