UCLA‘s hopes of making it to the postseason were ended on Saturday following its 19-13 loss to rival USC during Week 13. However, the Bruins can round out the regular season on a high note with a home win against Fresno State.

A win would give UCLA its fifth of the year and would snap a two-game losing streak. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs became bowl-eligible during Week 13 having defeated Colorado State, and would love a win over a Power 4 opponent to boost their postseason standing.

Heading into the final week of the 2024 college football regular season, the Bruins have opened as a 10.5-point favorite over the Bulldogs, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Vegas has set the over/under is set at 46.5 points.

Despite the matchup being one between a power conference opponent against a group of five team — the all-time series has been fairly even historically. At least, that’s how it looks on paper.

Heading into Saturday’s game, UCLA leads the series 6-4 ahead of the 11th meeting between the two programs. The last meeting came in 2021 — but Fresno State has won the last four games in the series. UCLA hasn’t defeated the Bulldogs since 2000.

Since the game doesn’t happen all that often, Fresno State has claimed victory in the matchups in 2003, 2008, 2018 and 2021.

However, UCLA won the first six games of the series between 1927 and 2000 and they’ll hope to break the streak against the Bulldogs during the regular season finale.

While the Bruins’ season won’t end with a postseason berth during the first season of head coach DeShaun Foster’s tenure — a win over Fresno State heading into the offseason is a strong way to finish an overall disappointing year one in the Big Ten.
