Garrett Wilson makes highlight-reel catch to give Jets lead vs. Texans on TNF
In the same stadium Odell Beckham Jr. made one of the best catches in NFL history, Garrett Wilson put himself in that conversation. He hauled in a highlight-reel, one-handed touchdown grab to give the Jets the lead over the Texans on TNF.
Wilson went up and pulled down a pass from Aaron Rodgers with one hand and somehow managed to stay in bounds. The officials initially ruled him out, but replay review showed his shin hit the ground before his knee – meaning it was a touchdown, giving the Jets a 14-10 lead.
There were shades of Beckham’s catch 2015 catch at MetLife Stadium when he reached back with one hand and hauled in a catch for the ages. Wilson’s was similar, though he seemed to channel the Jordan “Jumpman” logo.
Prime Video rules analyst Terry McAulay explained how Wilson managed to stay in bounds. By rule, the shin hit in bounds before the knee got to the white line, which meant the former Ohio State star did enough for the play to be a touchdown.
“That shin clearly touches in bounds before the knee goes out of bounds,” McAulay said, noting how impressive the slow-mo shot was. “That puts him in bounds with control. Touchdown.”

Garrett Wilson’s catch was a spark the Jets offense needed. They trailed the Texans most of the night until the play, which put New York in front for the first time.
The Jets are looking to right the ship after a loss to the New England Patriots to fall to 2-6 on the season. The Jets have had a rough go since parting ways with head coach Robert Saleh, losing all three games under interim Jeff Ulbrich despite making a trade for Davante Adams.
However, Adams went down with an injury in the second half. He caught a first-down pass from Rodgers and appeared to hit his head on the turf. He later headed back to the locker room, where he stayed until the 4:29-mark in the fourth quarter.
