Geno Smith files trademark for money quote amid career resurgance with Seattle Seahawks
The resurgence of Geno Smith took on a new life in Week 1, as the Seahawks quarterback led Seattle to victory over the Denver Broncos.
However, the best moment from the win may have come after the game, as the former West Virginia star delivered an all time quote in response to fans and experts alike believing he was done as a quarterback.
“They wrote me off, I ain’t write back though,” responded Smith, speaking on-field after the victory.
Now, Smith is looking to cash in on some of the buzz from the tremendous quote, as it’s being reported he filed a trademark for the phrase.
“Geno Smith has filed a new trademark, per @JoshGerben: ‘THEY WROTE ME OFF, I AIN’T WRITE BACK THOUGH’ The Seahawks QB made the filing two days after Seattle’s Week 1 win over Denver,” tweeted Front Office Sports.

Moreover, Smith passed for 195 yards and two touchdowns in Seattle’s Week 1 victory over the returning Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos. The former New York Jets draft pick impressed many with his ability to find receivers and take care of the football, earning immense praise from analysts and fans alike.
However, Smith couldn’t repeat his performance in Week 2, as Seattle struggled to move the football during their 27-7 loss to the 49ers on Sunday. During the showdown, San Francisco held Smith to 197 passing yards and an interception, Seattle’s lone touchdown coming on a blocked field goal.
Now, Smith and the Seahawks return home to Seattle in Week 3, welcoming the 0-2 Atlanta Falcons to town. Afterwards, the Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints are on the docket for the NFC West squad. There’ll be plenty of opportunities upcoming for victories, and Smith will have to get the job done.
Nevertheless, Week 1 was memorable for Geno Smith, and could earn him a lot of dough with his money quote. Still, the former West Virginia star is going to have to perform over the next couple of weeks to keep the hype going.
