Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith trolled the New York Jets after beating them on Sunday afternoon. The former Jets QB went to X to post the iconic RIP Bozo meme. Smith did not add any text to the photo, but NFL fans knew he was taking a shot at the Jets.

In the Seahawks’ 26-21 victory, Smith threw for 206 yards and one touchdown. It was a memorable game for the 34-year-old since the Jets drafted him in the second round back in 2013. Smith was with the Jets for four seasons and completed 57.9 percent of his passes for 5,962 yards, 28 touchdowns and 36 interceptions in 33 games.

Smith played for the New York Giants in 2017 and the Los Angeles Chargers in 2018 before signing with the Seahawks in 2019. After seeing no action during the 2019 season, Smith saw limited action as a backup QB in 2020 and 2021.

In 2022, Smith was named the starter after the team traded Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos. He was named to the Pro Bowl after throwing for 4,282 yards and 30 touchdowns during the 2022 season. Smith was named to his second Pro Bowl last season after throwing for 3,624 yards and 20 touchdowns with four fourth-quarter comebacks.

The 2024 season has been a little more challenging for Smith. Before Sunday’s game, the former West Virginia star registered 3,035 passing yards, 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. However, Smith had a passing yards per game average of 275.9 which led the NFL.

Before Sunday’s game, Smith talked about having a lot of respect for the Jets. “I’ve always had tremendous love and respect for that organization,” Smith said last week, per Sehawks.com. “Obviously, the team that drafted me gave me a chance out of the gate. A lot of great people there, some people that I was there with, a lot of those people are now gone. So as far as the whole revenge thing, that’s not on my mind. Like I said, man, there’s a lot of great people in that city that I still talk to and I still love and still support me and so it’s the biggest game of the year because it’s the next game. But obviously, because I was drafted there it’s going to be a narrative that’s built.”
