Geno Stone injury: Bengals safety carted off after gruesome injury
With just over two minutes left in the Cincinnati Bengals’ showdown against the Cleveland Browns on Sunday, Bengals safety Geno Stone suffered an injury to his tibia. He was carted off the field in an air cast.
The injury occurred when fellow Bengals defensive back Vonn Bell collided with Stone while the pair attempted to deflect a pass in the red zone. Earlier in the game, Stone recorded his first interception as a Bengal.
Stone reportedly said he won’t miss next week’s game if it’s up to him and was walking in the locker room on his own power after the game. It’s a positive sign for the former Iowa standout.
Stone is yet to miss a game for the Bengals this season, boasting 37 tackles, two passes defended and an interception. The Bengals signed Stone this offseason to a two-year, $15-million contract. He’s also spent time with the Houston Texans and, most recently, the Baltimore Ravens.
While with the Ravens in the 2023 campaign, Geno Stone tallied seven interceptions, the most of any safety in the NFL. His notable season made him a sought-after target this offseason. Now, he’ll look to recover in time to return for the Bengals’ next game.

Jayden Daniels leaves game with injury
In the first quarter of the Washington Commanders’ showdown against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, quarterback Jayden Daniels suffered an apparent rib injury. After entering the injury tent, Daniels headed back to the locker room.
The concerning development caused Commanders fans around the nation to cry out online, sending their rookie QB thoughts and prayers. Former Washington Redskins QB Robert Griffin III was among Daniels’ well-wishers.
Prior to the injury, Daniels guided Washington on an 11-play, 85-yard drive which ended in a 23-yard field goal from Austin Seibert. Daniels was key with his legs on the drive, going for 50 yards on three rushes, including a 46-yard scamper.
Daniels came into Sunday’s game as the overwhelming favorite to win the AP Offensive Rookie of the Year Award. The No. 2 overall pick has thrown for 1,404 yards, six touchdowns and two interceptions with a league-leading 75.3% passing. Daniels is third with a 73.7 QBR, and the Commanders own the league’s No. 5 ranked offense.
